About Us

Origin Story

"I wasn't sure what I wanted, but I knew I wanted something different."

So I had done the hard part and proposed with the engagement ring. Then while we were shopping for wedding rings I realised I hadn't given mine any thought. I had never worn rings before, so didn't know what I liked and disliked.

I wasn't sure what I wanted, but I knew I wanted something different from the standard gold or silver. Something that told a story of the relationship I had with a bit of my personality thrown in. Although I found design tools that helped me explore what I liked and didn't like, they were tied to a specific jeweler, which was normally interstate or overseas. I wanted to actually meet my maker and collaborate to be reassured that they understood the importance of the design and could offer suggestions on ideas or improvements.

From there Ringify & Ring Leader were created to help others do the same. In case you wondering what ring I went with, check out our FAQs.

FAQ Anchor
  • I've submitted my design, now what?
Hang tight, our team will review your design and pair you up with ring makers based on the design and your preferences. Makers usually reach out within 72hrs of submitting a design. If you don't hear from us or them please let us know.
  • How much will my ring cost?
How many miles must a man walk before you call him a man....12? 500? 42? This is both a perfectly valid question and a tricky one to answer without knowing all the factors. The cost of a ring as you'd expect depends on materials used, complexity of design, labor intensity, how quickly it's needed etc. To give a sense, premium materials like platinum or carbon fiber with intricate design elements could easily reach over $1000, while plain Tungsten based rings tend to be more budget friendly and fall below $400. Ultimately, price is a personal choice and should be balanced with a ring design you love since you'll be wearing it for a long time to come.
  • What if your design tool doesn't have the option that I want?
What's really cool about custom rings is there are practically infinite combinations of materials, styles, etchings and finishes to work with. Not to mention the different ways you could incorporate diamonds, gemstones, or even glow stones. You could even forge your family crest as a signet ring or recreate the one ring to rule them all. We're always adding more options and functionality to our design tool and would love to hear your suggestions. For now, to help capture the imagination and any limitations with the tool we have a comment section where you can note down design elements you want to discuss further with your ring maker once they reach out to you.
  • How much does this cost?
Nothing. You can design a ring and we'll match you up with ring makers based on your preferences free of charge.
  • So if this is free, how does Ringify make money?
As much as we'd love to say we do this out of 100% pure kindness and get paid in pixie dust, we do need to pay the bills. So by helping connect you with expert makers, we also save the makers time finding you as a customer, so they pay us for that service. This lets them spend more time doing what they love - crafting rings.
  • What ring did you choose?
In the end I went with two rings, a 'daily driver' and one I bring out for special occasions. My 'daily driver' is a black zirconium ring, lightweight so I barely notice it when typing, with a brushed finish to help mask any scratches. It has beveled edges so when it's on my finger, you can just see a hint of the gold inner sleeve underneath. To me it means that even though my marriage may have scuffs on the surface from time to time, it's still shiny and gold on the inside (Cue the awwww). My special occasion ring is awesome, it's a black tungsten ring with a Koa wood inlay, which is a tree that resides in Hawaii where my wife and I had our honeymoon. It's a lot heavier on the finger, so I didn't want to give my ring finger a work out while typing day-to-day.
